Default My 2011 Ram 1500

New guy here with a new to me, 2011 Ram 1500. Just brought it home Tuesday.

I've had two Dakota's before this Ram.

First day story:

I wasn't satisfied on how the dealership detailed it so, I started cleaning the DS armrest/door panel. Hit the door lock button, didn't think much about, closed the door and locked both sets of keys in it! Had to wait until the next morning for the dealership to bring me a new door key! What a start....

Love the truck so far. Couple issues I need taken care of. Rear sliding window not working and the Emergency cable is hanging too low.

Looking forward to reading and learning a lot here.

Thanks
Rick

nice truck. I too had a 98 Dakota before this one. need a truck for towing my 21 foot hardtop boat and the ram blows the Dakota away. night and day difference. welcome aboard. I too had a stupid moment when I had the truck in to do a muffler swap the mechanic must have hit the interior light switch. couldn't figure it out and went back to the dealer thinking soething was fried when the welded the muffler. guy moved the switch and smiled. felt pretty dumb at the time (still do lol). too many switches compared to the old Dakota.

On the rear slider:

I have found the more you use it, the better it works. The cable is lubed and gets dirty really easy, but if you use it it keep sthe gunk off it. I use mine at least once or twice a week.

I had a 96 (I think) Dakota extended cab V8. I loved that truck! Then I went to a 2001 Dakota Quad cab V6. OK truck, no balls. I traded it in on this Ram. Oh, the Hemi has some balls!

We all do some pretty stupid things sometimes. Well, at least I do. Thanks for making feel a little better.

The truck is very clean. 26K miles and looks almost brand new inside and out. The guys at work thought is was new.

I really like the remote start. (which non of my trucks or cars ever had)

Interesting info on the rear slider. Thanks. I can hear the motor when the button is pushed, but the glass won't slide. It did open, but wouldn't close. We'll see what the dealer says when I take it back tonight.

Thanks for the all the comments.

You can pull off the black tape between the door posts to let more of that white shine through ! Great truck !
I love my 2011 Ram 1500 also, no issues and an awesome soft ride down the road.

Congrats!! Great truck! Good luck with it. Your issues are minor, and the dealer should be able to correct them quickly.
