So I wanted to do a step by step (with photos) of how the job went down! Again, HUGE shoutout to Mike at GT Custom Exhaust!!
Here we go.
Here are the two beauties we put on.
Mike setting up the stands to hold the existing tails and pipes in place for minimal movement when taking the existing muffler off.
Shot of the existing split. The Y-pipe, or split pipe, wasn't much of a 'Y' as you'll see later.
Setting the new Flowmaster 10 Series in place.
Close-up of the welds.
Setting up the Y-pipe. He used a mini level to make sure everything was inline!
Old versus New.
New Y-pipe installed.
Nice! Clean flow through now!
Versus the old one... look at how restricting this thing is!!
So there is it for now. I will get a sound clip up soon but man does it rumble! It's got a nice bit of drone on the highway but not as bad as I was expecting based on what I've heard. Well worth it though. Local driving there is no drone at all, just on the highway.
Def. noticed a small difference in throttle peppiness, picks up a little quicker now so really happy about that.
Mike selected only Mandrel bends and stainless pipe for the job. He is a very cool guy to hang out with and does some solid work! Anyone looking to have exhaust work completed, he is your guy!
Love the set-up and the sound!! I'm like a little kid again.. lmao
I started it up for some chick at my ball tournament on the weekend and I think she twitched (in a good way)... lol
