Default Help with gears for 35s

Let me first off introduce myself names Taylor i have a 1998 1500 4x4 5.2 with a 6" inch lift with 35s.
I am looking at getting new gears for my truck and i have read that 4.10s is what a lot of people recommend for 35s . I was wondering if i do order 4.10s do i get them for just the rear or match the front to.
Thanks, Taylor

If you are 4wd, then you need front and rear.

What gears are you currently running?

You'll be happier to make the greater jump. Yes, 4.10s are good for 35"s, but if you are already running 3.92s...then you won't notice a huge difference. So you'd be better going to 4.56 (this is all true for 3rd/4th gen rams..I'm assuming 2nd gen have the same options for rear end ratios).

But if you have say...3.55s then a jump to 4.10 would be good. catch my drift?

Ok. I believe it still has the stock gears in it. So would it hurt just to bump it up from stock to 4.56 or just 4.10 is bout high as i should go?

stock gears doesn't tell me anything. newer rams can come with 3.21, 3.55, or 3.92
gears.

do you do more highway driving or city? highway, go 4.10 more
city go 4.56. that'll make it easy for ya to decide
