What I find hard is driving my truck for a few days and then going back to my car, and then back to the truck again.

I sit sometimes and am at a complete loss as to which button to push.

What makes it even worse is that occasionally I will even drive my wife's Altima.....and that has a pushbutton start!! LOL.....

A cacophony of buttons and dials looking back at me, and sometimes I just don't know where to begin! LOL.....

I really like it, plus the fact that its metal not plastic. I watched a design clip and they went with the rotary dial to be big and easy to use with gloved hands.

Way colder here than there, never had an issue. Even at -26 a couple nights ago.

Cold weather here in Toronto too, and no problems with my knob!

Default Rotary shift knob

Still haven't driven a rotary knob Ram or other Chrysler product with that feature since I started this thread, and may never. I'm too old, stuck in my ways and downright cussed ornery to change my ways now. Ram,...give me the option for a column mounted lever and a delete on center consoles and I'll choose you first. I feel that Ram has always been the leader when it comes to innovation, technology, performance and appealing features, but I can't get past that rotary knob "gadget thing". None of this late 50's to early 60's era thinking that you and others came up with back then is for me now, stop going backwards. No, I don't claim to be a futurist predictor of trends, nor am I up to date on what works best with today's automotive technology. Am I nothing more than an outdated relic from the past?,...surely there must be at least one or two of you left out there who still might agree with me? Please?

I went from looking at an Express to buying a Bighorn because they had one in the showroom with the shifter. I fell in love with it and that was the selling factor for me. Hope they bring it back before I'm ready to trade in!

How many here who don't like it being a dial rather than a shifter ever had the same experience when 4x4 selection went from a floor mounted lever to a selector knob and then from a selector knob to a couple of buttons?

Also don't have any issues with the outdoorsman I have in Fort McMurray in terms of cold weather shifting, nor do I have to put my foot on the brake to shift from D to N or N to D as one poster was saying.

All in all I like the rotary knob. Biggest issue is not blasting the fan when trying to shift into D. LOL
