Honestly, I was on the beach this weekend with my stock GY HP's, and they have 40k on them. I stayed in 2wd the majority of the time, and I was at 40 Psi.

^My dog, Marv, running for his life.

I had ZERO issues. The sand in the pix was pretty good sand, there was some much looser, deeper stuff and she went right through in 4x4 Auto with no problem at all.

Treat your gas pedal the same way you do in snow and you will be fine. light throttle to get going, unless you want to do circles.

Here's what happened:
- put truck in 4 auto.

- I put in 4 lock, no help.
- Turned off Traction control, no help.

After spinning and rocking, I started to smell clutch...

Anyways: why was I struggling so much? I have the stock tires with 30k on them, so that could be part of the problem? Makes me want to get some new 35s!

I'm from Colorado, and the truck is awesome in the snow. What's going on? Driver error?

I at least got a good pic of the truck on the beach....
Air down to 20 psi and make sure you remember that momentum in deep sand is key. What we used to do in Hummers is a powerbraking technique that involves brake and throttle pedal articulation at creeping speeds through deep sand. Basically trying to get max torque without spinning the wheels.

Im always at the beach, it gets really hot here in South Texas, When its hot that sand is like BABYPOWDER. i already know im gonna be pulling everyone out at the entrance and i mean everyone. Even JEEPS with huge mud tires! lol I have a 2012 Ram 1500 4x4 Stock everything and havent gotten stuck once. Came Close only once lol. I dont air down at all. Tires are GY hp. In the Deep sand i drop it in low or when pulling someone out. In normal hard sand i keep it in Hi. My key is DONT STOP! Made a killing during July 4th Weekend.

I have done a lot of sand 4 wheeling/driving over the years. Airingyour tires down to 22-20 psi adds more surface area/tire footprint. You are less likely to sink in. It has nothing to do with having stock tires. You can opt for the wider tires yet for the most part if you do enough driving on beaches you will have to eventually air down or get stuck.

It is a good idea to keep the following things in your truck to help dig yourself out.
Shovel
Jack
Snatch strap
Wood to put jack on.
