Default A/C Compressor Cycling

I have the auto climate on my 2011 Ram and my compressor seems to cycle when I have the Air on. It cools when engaged and I checked the pressures and they seem to be ok. Is it normal for the compressor to cycle like that with the auto climate or do I have a problem?

Default That is normal

This is normal just like a window ac unit that cycles on and off. The compressor needs to run to compress the refrigerant while cycling in through the system creating cold lines. The blower then blows air over the cold lines creating the cooling effect. The ac compressor electromagnetic clutch is controlled by the computer which talks to the digital control unit (where you set the temperature) and evap sensor over the can bus. Essentially the clutch turns off when the lines are cold enough and then back on when needed.
