Default 98 silverado brake light hell!!

Okay guys, I have no brake lights. I have tails, turns, and hazards.

I've checked both fuses, under dash and hood, and the relay didn't click so I swapped it to the a/c spot and it clicked so I know its good, I just replaced the brake switch by the pedal.

Any other ideas?!

Thanks a bunch

But wouldn't the relay under the hood still click? All lights work in every combo... except just brakes.

I've check and I have power at the brake switch too. I dunno now.

Bypass the brakelight switch and see if you get the click. I'm thinking you have a bad switch.

My work light died and the cord wouldn't reach under the hood

But i checked the power to the switch and it goes on and off with it so im losing power somewhere between there and the fuse box.

I have power at the contact for the relay but not the coil. I used a jumper wire and wouldn't ya know it. Brake lights popped on. So who knows what discoveries will be made tomorrow.

Happy my ram doesn't give me this BS. Lol.

Excellent news, Shaw! You're making progress. Let us know what the culprit was.

Well I my dad figured it out. He searched around and wire under the dash somehow got cut. How? Who knows. But I have tail lights now!!!
