Stock Torque Converter ... 2.1 sec 60' times....13.898/98.5mph




Edge Torque Converter (2800 stall) dropped my 60 foot times to 1.8's
but did not make my ET's any better, or my trap speeds

Car#1000 October 2011....









I'll be back this October with 500WHP Ripp Supercharger/MGH Built Trans/Alcohol Injection and an ATS Triple Lok 3000 stall Torque Converter
....and 12's (or better) no more f'n around with tenths
Sounds like your over geared and running out of power at the end of the track, maybe a taller tire might help with that converter you have.

That's what I'm saying, if I'm running at 95 mph in the 1/4 mile the power is obviously there, my only problem is my 60' due to drippy launch and wheel spin so if I get that down to low 2 s I should b good for 14s I would think,was just wanting some launching tips since I am a newbie to the track, seems like there are stock rams getting better 60' than I am right now just need some tips on good launching

That is really good mph, I ran a 13.77 in 2000 da and only ran at 98 mph

Also if you are spinning, might try dropping to about 22-24 psi in the rear tires and go from there.

This was on 22 psi in a cammed qc, that's my truck on the left. No pedaling, just wide open.
And as you see , if I am on street tires I stay out of the water box. This is with stock converter and 275/55r/20 Goodyear ls2's

Many moons ago I went from very traction limited 15.00's @ 100 mph to 14.60's @ 101 one week latter at the same hot drag strip in San Antonio. The only difference was that the second weekend Funny Cars were there and the starting line was much better! With street tires you really do want to try to avoid the water box, if possible.

Ok I'll try lowering the psi, cuz traction was an issue since I was spinning till 40 or so, but I just mashed on the gas haven't got to practice enough to be able to controll my wheel spin. Maybe I should invest in some dr's too especially before I get a new converter hopefully soon. Damn 355 open diff is killing me too lol

Yes sir, some 17's with radials would be ideal. And at some point if you plan to keep racing I would look into 4.10's with posi or at least the factory 3.92's. screw all that trying to pedal out of the hole , find a psi that works with your street tires or throw on the radials and let it rip! Keep us posted bro, hope you see low to mid 14's real soon
