Question To install the Y pipe, or not to install the Y pipe. That is the question...

Alright. I need some honest opinions. I haven't found any shops locally that are less than $200-$250 to install my magnaflow Y pipe. Seems a bit ridiculous to me, so I'm debating on just selling it...

My question to you is how much of a difference does this Y really make? I currently have the magnaflow 14, and will be purchasing the Vararam intake and 87mm Moes Throttle Body for my 13 Sport in the next couple weeks, and then eventually a tuner when released. That's pretty much all of the performance mods. I don't plan on doing any internal work.

Would the y pipe make that big of a difference to make it worth the $275 part/labor, or should I sell it and spend this mod money elsewhere?

You won't notice any earth shattering difference but it is a good supporting mod that makes other mods work better. I paid $175 to get mine done and I thought that was too high. I would recommend installing it though.....there is no negative to installing it, other than a lighter wallet.

I thought they re-designed the Y-pipe starting with the '13 and it wasn't restrictive anymore?

Could be, but I doubt they would go through that effort

I had my magnaflow y pipe installed as well as my Corsa catback (welded in too) for a grand total of $150. I would think a decent muffler shop would weld in your y pipe for about $50. Anything over about $80 is a rip off.

Well since you already have it I would just find an exhaust shop that can install it at a much more reasonable price then $200-$250.. That is just crazy!! There has to be a local shop that can hook you up.
