Default OEM Wheel Offset

Tried searching for the answer and was unable to find it, maybe missed it, or maybe not out there. Anyway, does anyone know what the offset is for OEM 20" wheels?

Am looking to get http://www.racelinewheels.com/p-200-...-5-chrome.aspx with Falken Wildpeak A/T 01(LT305/55R20) tires. So obviously the tires are gonna be wider but the wheels come in either a -6mm or +15mm offset. Which offset will work?

Don't wanna get wider flares so would like them to tuck up under the factory ones. Thanks in advance for the help. BTW already have a 2" lift kit coming so that I can clear these tires.

Stock 20x9 chrome clads are a +19 offset. In order to clear the 305 tire you will need to go with the -6 offset wheels. Otherwise you'll rub on the UCA

I think you'll want +15, I have a 305/45/22 and no issues.

Now knowing that though, wouldn't I want the +15 offset since that would bring the tire in .6" further which would account for about half of the 1.3" increase tire width?

Whereas if I did the -6 that would bring it in almost a full inch vs factory.

Where are you getting that math from? A +15 offset compared to a +19 offset only pushes the wheel out 4mm or 3/16". Therefore you only have 3/16" extra clearance with the +15 over the stock wheels. You do realize a positive offset tucks the wheel under the truck more an a negative offset pushes it out more right?

I know for a fact most guys rub with 295's on stock wheels. So the fact that you're 5mm wider on the inside with only 4mm extra clearance makes that set up not work.

A -6 offset puts you out 1" further than stock. The OEM Laramie flares stick out at least 1.5" if not 2". So even with the wider tire you'll still be tucked under your flares.

Brandon, yeah sorry about the math was figuring and posting real quick before supper. Plus for some reason I was thinking backwards of the pos/neg offset.

Hmmm... well if you're clearing it I'd say the OP probably should too. The only difference may be that you're running 22's. Less tire buldge?

No worries.

Nope, more negative offset will move the wheel out further. Positive offset will tuck it under the truck further.

For example, stock wheels are 20x9 +19 offset with 33x10 tires and they fit underneath the fender completely. I'm running 20x9 -12 offset wheels with 35x12.5 Toyo MT's and I stick out 2" past the fender. Lots of pics in my wheel/tire thread linked in my signature below if you want to take a look.

I run a -12 offset wheel with 305/55 20 Nitto Terras and I only have maybe 3/4" between tire and control arm.
