The old car this was going on is not worth braided. That and most times it is not this complicated. what made it so was the fact that the hole and another thin spot was so close to the hard line. The last time I had to mess with vinyl fuel lines was my 1996 Ram that I broke the quick connect on dropping the tank to fix the fuel gauge sender. That time I was able to heat the vinyl line enough with boiling water to put the splice into the tubing. Did not have to run a complete new vinyl line. Problem is if you take one of these into most dealers they end up replacing the entire fuel line. The factory only has the complete unit from the quick disconnect on one end, the hard line, and the quick connect on the other. The car I was working on is old enough that these factory parts are not even available anymore.
