Default Front caliper bolts

I had a front caliper bolt fall out.
I tried getting a replacement at napa but it was not a flanged bolt like the original. Should I get it from the dealer?

It is not an expensive part but the dealer is a little bit of a ride.

I guess it is actualy part of a caliper bolt kit. The one the fell out is about an inch long and bolts in from inside the wheel well.

I would not screw around, would call the dealer and make sure they had it, see if I need anything else and drive out to the dealer to get it. Unless you have a real good bolt supplier in your area it will be hard to find locally, also you need to get the same type, strength and size bolt, Dealer replacement makes that easy, better a little drive out to the dealer or a busted bolt under the truck. You might want to check local scrap yards, they might have one.

go to a good hardware store with the remaining bolt you have and they should be able to get the exact same one, and the same grade also

I would be concerned as to how a caliper bolt " falls out". Have you had your brakes replaced at all? Someone may have stripped out the caliper bracket and it would need attention as well. If it is screwed up, the bracket would need to be replaced or the thread repaired with a helicoil.

Not sure how it happened. I have had the truck for 2 years and put on 30K.
I am assuming the brakes were changed before I got it (Now at 60K and the pads look good)

I was able to use a metric bolt to get home but was nervous and wanted to use the factory bolt.

I replaced the hub on the opposite side a few months back. Everything seemed fine.
I am assuming they were not torqued or they needed thread-lock.
