Default A/c blowing 74 degrees

To start out with, I'm a residential hvac tech so I know the basics... Maybe lol.
My a/c is blowing about 70-75 degrees and the truck stays 80-87 degrees. It's an 06 hemi ram. The system is properly charged. I think there is a restriction in the high side because where the line goes up by the fender, it is hot all the way through till about half way up the fender then it's cold and condensing where there seems to be some sort of joint. I was wondering maybe I either have a blockage in the line or I'm guessing auto a/cs have some sort of metering device like residential does. Am I thinking right? Anyone else have issues like this?
Thanks

The evaporator has a metering port like residential units. It is not unheard of for them to become clogged. If your hi/low side pressures are good it is possible that the orifice is the culprit. In my limited knowledge your low side pressure will run a little low if that orifice is clogged, but your the a/c tech.

It was a lil low but still within range. I added just a lil bit and didn't make a difference. Idk if I even want to bother with it. Truck came with a decent warranty so I'll have to see if that's covered.

I didn't think 74 was bad till I looked at my kids sweating their butts off in back. (i was sweatinting because i had the vents trying to blow on them) i also jumped in my friends 03 ram and it was blowing 54 degrees.

Thanks for the replies

Is the low side pressure correct? A simple recharge may do it, even 5psi counts for a lot in these [comparatively] small systems.

My mom's sedan will drop 5-7 psi and the A/C doesn't blow cold at all, a $20 can recharge and it's good to go for another 6 months. (yes I know there's a leak, but the part is over $1000, and the recharge is $20)

yes, the charge send to be good, according to the gauge anyway. I know some can have the chart on it, I got the a/c pro which has the lil gauge where u set temp and a lil "v" where the needle should be between.

I would think so. mine doesn't even have vents in the back but I don't think that would even matter

I have a ? on you recharging system
Did you top charge
Did you remove old freon and put into a good vac.
did you recharge with new 134a with the can upside
if you top charge 134a alot the freon is junk ( its called "fracerashon" ? on the spelling)

note I have been transport ref. teck for over 10year
ps i get 45* at 100* outside temp

No, I just added very little to see if that would make any difference. It was in the charged zone of the gauge so I didn't want to overcharge. I really don't think there is a leak so I didn't reclaim freon, pressure test, pull vac and recharge.
