Default test drove 09 ram. rear end noise (VID)

So I looked at an 09 RAM and had a couple concerns. the first being a substantial clunk when put into gear. the next being the noises you hear when in drive over 30mph. If you put the truck in neutral it goes away so it has to do with drivetrain stress or load. thoughts? the salesman wanted no part of going along for the test ride and said he would have service look at it. Kind of weird, if they are trying to sell the truck why not hop in with me and listen to it?

O.o ... Noises are bad. Maybe the rattling is the muffler being loose

Update!

Service guy went to take the truck for a spin and the rear diff seized/locked up before he could get out of the parking lot. Will the recall cover this? If the dealer has to eat the cost the truck will go up in price and at that point, I'm out.

Yep the recall will cover this and all components related to that issue.

I just had the recall performed on my truck before that happened and they replaced everything with all new components. Once the repair is done I would check the truck over again.

Try and use this to your advantage.

being that it is covered under a recall, mopar takes the hit. Not the dealer, correct?

good thought on the power train warranty. how much does that usually run?

Here is my daughter with the truck.

parts come in on tuesday to fix the truck. hopefully itll be done same day and i'll give the test drive another go. Sounds like I can get them to split the difference on a 4yr 48k powertrain warranty as well.

is the "powertrain plus" warranty common? seems like good drivetrain coverage just browsing over its details.
