My '09 Ram QC 5.7 weighed 5300 pounds from the factory
the bed is loaded with tools & 30 gallons of gas in my auxiliary tank, plus the full stock gas tank & my fat ass in the seat, the Ram weighs 6,480 pounds

I just drove 6,814 miles, coast to coast & back on vacation
computer read anywhere from 17.4 to 20.1 MPG
most of the trip was at 75 MPH with some driving at 80 MPH, what ever the speed sign read at the time, i always use Cruise Control on the highway

I believe that by using synthetic oil & one of the better oil filters & having a clean air filter is the key to good mileage

I now have 83,000 miles on my Ram
this was on a different cross country trip, while going through Oklahoma on a hot day

What have you replaced and what service have you done. I would love to get that mileage again. Also what tires do you have/
Thanks,
Doug

My last trip and only one without a trailer I averaged 16.6 MPG hand calculated. This is with my CCSB 09 4X4 with 35's, CAI, Exhaust and a Hemifever tune. I found the mileage better with the MDS turned off and that was with cruise at 70mph. The computer read that I was getting close to 18mpg but not so LOL I was still very happy with it at 16.6

On the EVIC driving nice, yeah I'd say its normal. Even my 4x4 with a small lift and aggressive tires will get right up there for gas mileage when I drive it nice.

my 09 hemi QC gets around 16mpg for an average day of driving (mainly highway, 50ish miles a day) all i have is exhaust, and tires/rims for aftermarket parts.

I am able to get over 21 mpg, but it takes some finese. On my last trip to the cabin, I was 21mpg on the dot. This included some rush hour traffic, long segments at a steady 72 mph, and another long segment between 55 and 65.

I am very pleased with that as previously my suburban would top out at 17, going downhill with a stiff tailwind.

I have a 09 1500 CC, 20" wheels, 4x4, running 89 octane, stock with the exception of a spectre drop in filter.

Not too shabby.
