Default Wheel/Tire Combo Question

I have ordered SRT Replica wheels, 20x9 with a 25mm offset. My stock wheels are a 19mm offset, so by my understanding, the 25mm offset will move my wheels further inboard by 6mm than stock wheels. I am looking to run Yokohama Parada Spec-X 305/50/20 instead of stock size 275/60/20. I have spent a lot of time searching here but I am still not sure if I will have rubbing issues with this tire and rim combo. I will not run spacers, so if there are problems with rubbing I guess I will be buying stock tire size. My truck is a 2010 Big Horn Hemi 2WD, not lowered or leveled. Any information is appreciated.

Here is a recent thread that might offer some insight.

http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=137729

Basically, this fella has some slight rub while turning with 305/50/20 on his stock 2012 2wd with the 20x8 rims. Based on that I would say the greater positive offset of the rims you want to run will pretty much have to cause rubbing. On top of that, you are actually going to be running a wider rim. Even with the same tire width, an 8" rim will pull the sidewalls in more than the 9" rim. I just don't see how they couldn't rub. The question is how much. I know you said you don't want spacers but a lot of folks do run them with no issues. Motorsports Technologies makes the best hubcentric spacers that are basically problem-proof.

I did see that thread and pretty much knew I would have problems with the combination I was thinking about. I also saw another thread with a similar setup only 22" wheels and he also had a problem. Thanks for the information on the spacers, they definitely look high quality and I don't think there would be any issues with them. I have decided to go with the stock size tire (275/60/20) and avoid the headaches of the wide tires.

Finally have my new wheels and tires installed. I went with Factory Reproduction SRT wheels, black with machine face, and Nitto NT420 tires. I can't believe how it transformed the looks of my truck! If the weather ever straightens up here in Georgia I will get the truck cleaned up and post more pics, but here is one for now.

Looks awesome! I know a lot of peeps run them but you can't go wrong with SRT rims. What tire size did you end up with? They don't make the Nittos in 275/60/20 do they? Have you thought about lowering the rear end just a little? It's hard to tell from the angle but it looks like the rear could drop just a tad. It would set you level and close the rear fender gap to look more like the front.

Congrats! Rim rep coming your way, lol.

I ended up with 22" rims because they didn't make the machined face in a 20", tires are 305/45-22, and they do rub a little at full lock, but I like the way they look. I have been contemplating a Ground Force 2" drop for the rear, just need to save some $$$'s to get it done.

Your truck looks awesome with the machined face srt10 rims! I haven't seen them like that before. I am considering the chrome version with that tire but might see if I can find ones like that. How does your truck ride with them? Did u notice much of a mpg change? I really like the look your truck has

Thanks for the compliment, these wheels make the truck look so much better. The ride fine, as least as good as the stock Goodyear tires. I thought I had lost some mileage, about 1 mpg, based on my normal driving for a month. I just installed my Bully Dog GT last week and I think I have gotten my mileage back plus a little (regular tune with 89 octane gas), but I need more miles to know for sure. I have new springs for a 2" rear drop, so more pics to follow when I get a chance to install them.
