Default Laramie vs Longhorn

Anyone know what the big differences between the two are? I'm going to go to the dealership tomorrow to see if they were telling the truth about 3.0 Diesel being available to order tomorrow.

Debating between the two and wondering what's standard on both.

The biggest difference is the Longhorn has real wood interior trim and higher quality leather. The Laramie can be optioned to have pretty much everything the Longhorn has otherwise. Oh, and the longhorn has different color two tone paint... And Longhorn badges, and Berber floormats...

The diesel Grand Cherokee is still not available to order and the info for it was released months ago, well before the Ram info. GC ordering is tenatively supposed to start August 9th. Haven't seen a date for the Ram ordering but highly doubt it is tomorrow. Guess you will see.

I looked at around 50 trucks yesterday before ordering mine. I liked the Laramie better. One look at steers embossed in leather and all that embroidery work on the seats was enough to hit the "no thanks" button. Maybe if I lived on a ranch in Texas, wore boots and Wrangler jeans....it was just WAYYYYY too cowboy for me. (And, please, I know lots of folks like this or they wouldn't be selling a "Longhorn" version!)

This is why Ram developed the Laramie Limited. You should check it out.

The embroidery is optional, you don't have to order it. The only downside from my viewpoint on the Longhorn is the huge Longhorn "belt buckle" emblem on the doors. I removed mine and to me it's a much cleaner look.

Keep in mind Texas is the largest pickup truck market in the world, so the Longhorn edition sells well here. That's also why we get out own edition (Lone Star) and everyone else gets the Bighorn.

The filigree design on the Longhorn seat option looks like a pinstripe job that didn't know when to stop. Remember, you will have to live with it for many years.
