Default Who has installed a cat-back themselves?

I have a Corsa db exhaust system sitting at home waiting to be installed. I don't have much time to work on my truck right now and I was wondering how long it might take? Did anyone have a lot of trouble removing the old pipes?
I really want to get this thing installed, but I am doing a head gasket in my daughter PT loser and that job is eating up every spare second I have... what a PITA.

Well my truck was only a couple months old when I did my cat back so nothing was rusted on very much. It literally took me about 3 minutes to rip the stock exhaust off. Just get under there and spray some penetrating oil on the bolts and on the slip joints. It should all come off fairly easily.

As far as install time goes. It really depends on how picky you are. I'm anal when it comes to making things line up properly so I spent a good amount of time screwing around with that and measuring were my pipes were and such. Total probably took me about 3-4 hours just using the clamps. Since then I've welded the muffler in completely and tack welded all the other joints to stop them from moving around (probably another 1 or 2 into that work). I highly recommend doing that.

What system do you have on your truck? I too am very picky about the look of my truck. I have a MIG and can tack the joints once I get them adjusted.

I have the Flowmaster American Thunder system. My truck came without factory duals so I wanted a system that would allow me to do a side exit at 45's behind the rear tires. Getting those tips lined up at the same height and same angles is what took forever!

They still look a little off in the picture but I think that's because I wasn't straight on with the truck when I took it.

Looks good. Mine has the Hemi with the factory faux (2-1-2) duals. I guess the only thing for me to line up are the tips with the bumper cut outs.

Yup, that's definitely a lot easier to set up than what mine was. I'd say you're probably look at around 3 hours start to finish.

Looks good. You see so many trucks out there, that look like they didn't take any time with the tip angles. N thats what everone sees. Definitely makes a diff when its done right.

Mine took an afternoon, might have been less time but I probably spent an hour making sure the tips didn't look retarded before I tightened everything up.

Which exhaust did you install? No issues removing the old stuff? How old was the existing exhaust?
