Default 1995 ram 2500 V10 4x4 reliability

Hey all! New to the forums and to buying a dodge trying to decide if I want to buy this truck or not. Its a 1995 2500 4x4 reg cab auto with the 8.0 V10. Anybody have any experience with these engines? This one has about 250,000 miles on it, which could be high or low for these engines, I really don't know anything about them. Any particular problems I should look for? Opinions on the truck?

The weak link is the automatic transmission from what I've seen. My cousin had a V10 3500 plow truck with dump body. He had terrible luck with the transmission. Probably could have it built up by someone like SharaDon, ATS, SunCoast and have it last. If I was you, I 'd look for an old 12 valve Cummins. Any truck that old should be inspected for rust, especially frame rust, Dodge or other.

They are very good engines, have seen many with 200,000+ miles. I agree with the transmission being the biggest weak link, unless it has been rebuilt.
