Default I'm afraid it'll be too quiet (exhaust)

Lookin to put a muffler on my Ram 1500 (5.7L hemi standard cab 4X4)

I know Flowmaster is much louder than Magnaflow, but I like the sound and design of Magnaflows, but I'm afraid they just wont be loud enough.

So, which MUFFLER from Magnaflow will allow me to be just as loud as Flowmasters (40 or 44 series) without having to delete cats or resonators?

Is there such a thing?

I'm looking at a 14" maganflow muffler but I think there is an 11" one as well..

is it possible to get that loud? Or will I HAVE to get rid of some cats and resonators?

And what downside will there be to getting an 11" vs a 14" if any...?

I dont want this thread to be a magnaflow vs flowmaster fight...and i know that i want magna flow and dont need to be convinced otherwise.

Just looking for a loud muffler setup without having to delete cats and resonators...Magnaflow only. thanks

You could always get one of the smaller magnapacks and add a mag y pipe at the end? But i still dont know exactly how loud that could be. Maybe you can find a clip of tbe magnapack on youtube?

Just another idea for you. I think the smaller oval bodies dont have the right sized inlets and oulets

Heres a clip i found of a single exit w/ resonator 14" magnapack on a '10 hemi. I think it sounds pretty mean

I got the Mufflex 24" and its slightly louder than the stock Sport exhaust but its nice enough to make the truck sound as it should which is mean but not ricey or excessively loud. It barely has a drone and when it does its around 55 to 60 mph after that it goes completely away. I have not had any issue when the MDS kicks in either.

Only thing I wish is that it could be slightly louder on the outside but just as quiet in the inside. If it got any louder inside, it would def annoy me big time. I like quiet cabins.

I don't think they make an 11" magnaflow. I believe the 14" is the smallest, which will be the loudest as well. Or as suggested above you can look into the magnaflow glasspacks and see what you can find there.

Another option would be cutouts, that way you can change when you are loud or quiet.

dagnabbit!
I really didnt want to go with FlowMaster, but I think I will..

only because I havent found a magnaflow system that is loud enough, unless I delete some cats, which I do NOT want to do..

anyway, I'll keep ya'll posted on the results.

thanks

Personally, id go with the super 10 series, i have a chery bomb extreme which is very similar and i love it, you have to put a small muffler on thesd trucks to make them loud. Check em out.

The only reason i say super 10 over mine is because theyre offered in SS

It's amazing how much sound cats swallow up(I didn't realize). I had stock cats and a 14" straight through muffler(like a magnaflow) and just swapped to no cats with a 22" magnaflow and it's essentially the same volume(pretty loud).
