Default cai pinging or not?

I had installed an AEM brute force intake and soon after notice some pinging at mid throttle load. My dealership says it is ping and recommended premium fuel and new o2 sensors but couldn't guarantee anything. The tech at aem says it is probably not ping . A few tanks of 94 yielded no change. I have since removed the kit and truck is back to being sadly quiet. Any ideas?

If you don't have a tuner, get one. With my Diablo Predator, I can data log and check for knock retard, then reduce timing. Can't believe a CAI would cause detonation, but it might let you hear it easier? If you have it, get it fixed with a tuner. Tuner is cheap, new pistons, not so much.

No tuner. I had tried a I-1000, no change in pinging but it threw my shifts out. I heard you can set the shift point but I didn't end up purchasing it because it didn't solvr the problem.
