Default 2006-2008 hemi swap

Working on a 2008 4.7l 5 speed the 4.7 had a broken valve spring they screwed the entire motor up block head everything and looking to replace with a hemi whos done it and what's all needed

Not aware of anyone who has tried it with a CAN bus vehicle (06+).

either have I but Im guessing that im going to need engine, wiring harness with computer, pedal assy and who knows what else

The TIPM's are a lot more sensitive in the CAN vehicles, you will probably need EVERYTHING from the cab to the front end harness/module wise just to cover all bases. Most likely will need access to a Starscan/starmobile/Witech to put in VIN, etc on the non original modules. Good luck and keep us posted.

ya that would be the best bet only other thing to look at would be the frame to see if they use the same mounts on the frame I'm sure that the removable piece of the motor mount is different but is the piece welded to the frame

I would just go back with a 4.7. I know I love Hemi power to but it will be very expensive to convert it I would think,not to mention the legalities of smog check and all that. Probably wouldnt cost as much to build a supercharged 4.7 that was legal.

well just thinking hemi for parts and resale but the guy it thinking of just parting the truck hes not sure as he will be 5-6k by the time its up and running with a 4.7l nobody any where close has a used engine with close to the same miles and want $1k + for a core but the hemi's are easier to find locally but if he parts ill put it up on here for ya guys personally i love the 4.7l i have it in my 04 dakota that has had alot of work and for north idaho there is no emissions to pass or anything so thats not a issue
