Default How are the stock goodyears?

Many people complained about the 09-12 Goodyear tires on these rams.. So my question is how are the 13's? I heard they upgraded them to a better tire? Are they better then the 09-12 goodyears? How are they in snow?
Thank you all help is much appreciated !

Guess it depends on what you want them for.

I have the 20" Goodyear SR-A's that came from the factory. I just took a 1,500 mile road trip and the tires were fine. They handle well on dry pavement and actually did fairly well during some unexpected thunderstorms near El Paso. My truck has less than 8,000 miles so I can't comment on wear other than to say so far nothing just jumps out. Noad noise and comfort is not an issue.

What I can say is that these tires have no business being on a 4 wheel drive vehicle. It doesn't take very much mud for them to just give up and, as some others on the board have found out, they can puncture very easily if a rock even has a hint of a point on it. Their off-road woes are why I rated them "crap" in my signature below, but to be fair they are sold as highway all season by Goodyear and not as all terrain. It's really Ram's fault for putting them on 4x4's, though I have seen other manufacturers do it as well.

If I only planned on using them on-road I'd keep them until they wore down, but since I like to occasionally travel off the beaten path I am saving up for a set of BF Goodrich All Terrains.

They havent changed at all, same tire since '09.

SRAs are not an off road or even an all terrain tire, but they are round and hold air. I have had them on all three of my 4th gen Laramies and never felt the need to replace them for what I use it for.

Pull them and sell them on Craigslist.....some sucker will buy them and you can use the money towards a real tire!

I would avoid offroading with the SRA's if possible. I had 300 miles on the tires when I attempted a relatively easy mountain pass (passenger cars make it over the pass). I had a flat within the first two miles of the gravel and rock road. I took the tire off and noticed a 1.5" tear in the tread.

On pavement, I think they're pretty quiet and seem to do ok in the rain.

I really didn't mind mine for the year I had them.

They weren't great, but they were far from terrible.

Tire rack has them in stock 20" size for $132 each, that should tell you something. I'm fine with mine as I don't go off road with my sport. I work in the woods every day of the week and run all terrains on my 07 dodge quad cab. Every tire has its intended purpose. I do believe however that you should have more tire choices on a new truck, they let you choose pretty much everything else.
