Default Best oil filters to use with synthetic oil?

I have read several threads on synthetic oil and I have seen a lot of comments saying use a good filter when switching to synthetic. What filter is good?

there are many good brands
I just stay away from the cheap Fram filters, poor construction, cardboard end caps & sometimes even split seams, as well as an inferior bypass valve

Personally i buy a WIX brand filter, it may read WIX, Carquest, or NAPA, they are all WIX

I don't have the Electric Steering on mine, i believe that your does have it, so i won't post the part number

With the Electric Steering there are 2 sizes, Long & Short, you have to decide which will fit

Here are some of the Brands

There are filters rated for 15,000 miles. I use the Fram XG16 with Penzoil Platinum and send a sample to Blackstone Labs. If you don't believe it's a better filter, try one, you will be surprised, I think, your oil will not turn black! I just checked the oil in my Ram, 9,500 miles so far, down less than half a qt and oil still looks amber. I suspect any of the premium filters will give similar results. Here's a comparison done by an independent lab.Do not confuse the Fram XG with any other Fram, the rest are crap.

Fram oil filter users, i didn't mean to imply that All Fram oil filters are poorly made

I just meant that their CHEAP, meaning the less costly filters, have had issues
They sell a couple levels of oil filters

FRAM EXTRA GUARD® Oil Filter
For everyday drivers who perform routine maintenance on their vehicle every 3,000-5,000 miles.1 Extra Guard is engineered for use with conventional oil.

FRAM TOUGH GUARD® Oil Filter
For drivers who like to change their oil every 6,000-10,000 miles.1 Tough Guard is optimized for stop and go traffic, towing, extreme weather conditions, and is engineered for use with premium conventional or synthetic oil.

FRAM ULTRA SYNTHETIC™ Oil Filter
For drivers looking for top performance from newer engines and maximum protection for older vehicles. Ultra Synthetic is engineered to be paired with synthetic oil and provides proven protection up to 15,000 Miles.

FRAM HIGH MILEAGE® Oil Filter
Engineered for vehicles with over 75,000 miles. FRAM High Mileage is for drivers who need to keep their older vehicles running for the long term.

Since switching to the Signature Series flavor of Amsoil synthetic, I started using the Amsoil oil filter since it is rated for longer drain intervals. Prior to my switch I was using the Amsoil OEM synthetic and used Wix filters which I have used in years past. If you plan to do a long drain interval, you should look at filters rated for such duty. As mentioned, Amsoil is one, but as I recall Mobil 1 has one as well. Otherwise you will be fine with the likes of Wix, K&N, Purolater & Mopar

Fram has a bad rap in my opinion. We used them on State Police pursuit vehicles and never ever had an issue in the 13 years I worked for them. I personally use either OEM or WIX.
