Default 2003 electric brake hook up

Hey guys asking a question for my brother. He wants to hook a brake controller in his truck to pull a travel trailer. his truck does not have the tow package . he bought a 7 pin outlet but there seems to be no power wire to hook up for the electric brake. Does he have to run a wire back from the dash or is there one hiding somewhere that we don't see. I havent looked under the dash but i am assuming that there will be a plug to hook in the brake booster wiring harness?

Thanks in advance as any help is always appreciated

There is no hot wire back there to power the system. There is a wire harness that he can buy that just plugs in but it has to be ran all the way to the engine compartment. Just ask the dealer or do a search for it.

Mopar makes a kit that includes everything. A little pricey (unless you really shop around) but was worth it to me. For the most part it pretty much ties everything in like factory.
