Default Door Protection

Ok.. please excuse my lack of terminology.. I am just a chick with a brand new 2013 Dodge Ram...LOL...

Anway.. that being said, I am really paranoid about someone dinging my doors with their doors or carts. I live in Florida and half of the people around here are seniors. I know there are door protectors ( I want chrome) but I am having a hard time finding them for Dodge or 2013. Anyone have any ideas? Also, I found something called "rocker panels" but they look like they adhere to the bottom of the doors, that doesn't seem like it would offer much protection. What is it exactly that I am looking for?

There is not much you can do as far a huge protection from seniors and there carts, doors, walkers, them driving cars, cane's, and the big old guy with key chains all around his belt rubbing himself on you paint as he walks by. You could try and park way way way far away, but then there's always that idiot who thinks he is smart with his junk car that squeezed right next to you. You could Line-X your whole truck, some have done it, just not my style. The Rocker panel covers are for esthetics really and well you can get the door protectors they come in chrome but they are usually limited to protecting from door dings. You can also get the 3m edge protector, they help if you loose your door and it hits someone else or a wall. as for where to get the door protector, contact Fast "Andrew" here at Bully's Performance, he can get you these products and at great prices.

Park far away and up hill if possible and hope someone doesn't park next to you. Also look for a end parking spot with a curb on one side and park as close to it as you can so you have a wider parking spot.

Change your shopping times to late night or early mornings.

All good advice from fellow members. But, whatever you do, don't park crossways where you take up 2, 3 or 4 spaces like the ass wipe with the $90K Porsche. That just pisses people off and draws more attention to your beautiful Ram in the form of keying.

I have a history of getting really good parking spots, but since my new laramie is a CC w/6'4" box, I don't bother looking for spots up front any more. The extra length makes getting in/out of parking spots much harder. So I park away from everyone and overlap a spot. Not trying to draw attention or be the 90K Porsche ass wipe , but I need the room to get out.

I had the paint to match sportwing side moldings on my old '12, you could hardly tell they were there. There was a few nicks in them from peoples doors but of course there was one 'special' door that put a nice ding below it closer to the rocker. The stainless rocker panel trim will ding too, thats more cosmetic than protection. Running boards help with lower cars, but not against other pickups/SUVs.

All you can do is park far away, never park it anywhere or buy a door ding contract from dent wizard or whatever, for a set yearly fee they will fix all the door dings you get.

I do understand that. You've got a whole fricking zip code behind you.

Can the chrome door trim/guard that comes standard on the Laramies I believe, not be purchased?

I am also looking to get some and figured the best looking/fit ones would probably have to come from Ram?

Edit: Like in the the pics at the start of this thread, can these not be purchased separately from Chrysler/Ram as an accessory?

find a AUTO MOLDING & TRIM SHOP in your area

something like this, molding comes in several shapes & sizes
http://www.brandsport.com/moldingtrim1.html

i just talked to my Brother-in-Law, he owns a auto body shop
he just said to call a auto body shop & tell them that you need molding on your truck & what it is that you want to do, & request that they point you in the right direction & can recommend someone

You might look here. This is where I purchased side moldings for my 2010 Ram Sports. I think you can either get chrome or they will match the color of your truck.
