I actually punched in the serial number on the Dodge website and it told me 12250 for the 2012 Cummins and 13450 for the 2013 5.7 Gas.

I would have to say...............A 2013 Ram 4500 Chassis Cab Tradesman 4x4 Crew with the Cummins and a 4.44 rear end. Max tow of 19,300lbs bud.

iceman I think you should keep in mind the trailer will also push the truck....I would never recommend a gas or a 1/2 ton no matter what the tow ratings are for a trailer of this weight.

3500 Cummins Dually. I seldom to never see them down on the interstate (and if I was no-load) and they were in a DODGE, I'd stop and help. But hey I'm biased for a reason .............R...

i would go with the 5.7 but i'm also biased. i have a power wagon (2500) and i have towed a 40 ft race trailer with a drag car, all the tools, parts, and a 2 day supply of beer (the beer was the heavy part of the load) lol. i pulled that trailer just over 800 miles and my 5.7 was humming along nicely with no issues at all. the second trailer with the other race car an tools etc. was a 2500 dodge 2010 with the cummins. me and the guy driving the other truck switched just to see which we liked better and his was a little better getting going from a stop but my 5.7 was better at speed. mine was a little harder on fuel than the cummins. i could feel the heavier engine in his truck and his is a 4th gen and mine is 3rd gen. i prefer the 5.7 but i'm biased and prefer gas for myself. i'm sure that will change once i blow up my hemi from something dumb i'm sure i will do. and i probably will get even dumber and try throwing a small cat v8 diesel in my power wagon. the dodge front end issues aren't much to worry about if your good with maintenance and don't buy bargain front end parts to save a few bucks. like they say "you get what you pay for". i'm a strong believer in that. if you go with a diesel make sure to check the most expensive parts of it. like the turbo and fuel system and if you can get a 2 oz sample of the oil and go to any truck shop and get it analyzed to see how the engine is doing. the cost of the analysis is well worth it when it comes to diesels.

I actually test drove the f-250 fully loaded with 50k miles and after a 10 mile test drive and the saleperson braging about how they did 9k worth of work to fix an engine issue the truck was recalled for and how reliable the truck is. i shut it down and it began pouring oil from the rear main seal. This was not my first issue with for. ive have rods thrown and engines hydro locked so personally I will never own another ford. stick with the cummins

Go to the Chevy dealer and test drive the new truck they have. Try out the Ford truck next. After that, go to the Dodge dealer and drive the Ram. You will find it easy to decide.
