I agree, why the hell does it have square fenders? Also the dang steering wheel is off center with the driver seat.

Looks like a horsefly with those headlights.

Raced one today, unfortunately he did barely beat me, but I was pulling my 18 ft flat deck full of lumber. He wasn't. Lol.

Gm has had stupid square wheel wells since 73. Don't think they're going away.

That said, the rumor around various sites is for a Aisin 8 speed NEXT year for the GM trucks. Evidently the joint Ford/GM 9 & 10 speed autos are a few years away yet.

Regardless, trucks selling the way they are & the competition one upping one another is a great for all things...except price. They keep jumping them by the thousands, not hundreds.

I'll go gout on a limb and say I like the new GMC. I still think they looked better about 06, but this crop looks better than the last 7 years. The square wheel wells grow on you over time, and the opening makes it easier to blast clean in the winter. However, I still wont own another one again either until they blow me completely out of the water with improvements. The 14 was better than my 06, but not enough.

I drove 2 different 2014's

The interior is still behind the ram though, but I think it may be quieter. The trans is still markedly clunkier than the 8 speed as well. it's fine under light throttle, but mash it and it shifts really harsh. the downshift is really abrupt. not seamless like the ram's 8 speed.
I think with the upgraded power in the 5.3 it will likely tow with better mpg than the hemi will. I'd be willing to bet that the torque curve, while less than the ram, comes on stronger a bit lower than the hemi.

I really like the 2014 chevy's. Although there are some differences, that grill looks looks like the one on the first truck I ever had ('89 Silverado). Kinda takes me back to the good 'ole days....

I actually saw a '14 silverado on the road yesterday. I followed it for a while, and eventually got in front of it to get a better look at the front end. I'm conflicted. The grill takes me back to the late '80's early '90's, and I really like that style of front end. But my '89 chevy had a cleaner look to it. It didn't have those square fenders and weird pop-up things on the hood. I really want to like that truck, but I feel a bit conflicted about it...
