Default Differential help

I have a 03 ram 1500 with a hemi and ive had a humming noise coming from the passenger side rear so i pulled the diff cover of to change the fluied and found metal laying in it and it looks like a M shape did a little searching and it looks like the clutch pack alignment clips so my question is is there any were i can buy just the clip or can it be drove with out them?

It's a clip that they use from the factory when they install the LSD, more specifically the clutch pack. What happens is the clip falls out, which isn't any big deal in itself, but can get caught up in the gears and play hell in your differential. So you can toss it and forget about it. Just don't forget to use the additive for the LSD.

Be very careful and look close. Mine did the same thing with a similar noise, but the pin that the retaining clip held moved and was being ground down and was destroying the inside of my pumpkin. I didn't want to take any chances so I ended up replacing the rear end.
