I have 3.55 gears and tow my 24' travel trailer over the mountains without any issues.

As for 4x4 mileage, I get about 15 in town and 22 highway.

OK, don't have a Hemi yet (have bids on 2, an 05 & 07). I'm a firm believer in 4x4 (saved my ass more than once). Interstate blizzards!!!

Who'd of thunk the Navy would take over a Ram Forum Shipmates it is great to see you here.

I have good news we pulled the cord and sent the info to our local dealer yesterday on that 4x4. I convinced the missus it is the better deal having told her about the impending slow down of rebates and deals until the 2014's start to fill up inventory.

So we sent a pretty solid deal to the dealership it is totally up to them to agree. We gave them our bottom line and as much information (USAA Pricing etc) that we could along with the KBB on our trade-in (based on KBB Dealer Trade in not private sale). If it all works out I will be posting picks of a Deep Cherry two-tone Laramie Longhorn in about 2 weeks. The other area dealership has two identically configured 2013 4x4 Laramie Longhorns and have had them on their lot for at least 3 months so I know they are itching to get rid of the inventory.

If it doesnt work out I will just wait a couple months and pay off another vehicle without doing Al Gore math to do so and order a 2014. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

I was at a dealer with a friend this weekend. I was surprised that the dealer was not offering any special pricing other than straight 'invoice.' Dodge is offering a crummy 2.9% loan or $2,500 off.

Unlike last year, pick up truck sales are very strong so dealers are selling most everything they have. Unless you find a dealer who is eager to move a truck that suits you off his lot for whatever reason, order the 2014 and save one years full depreciation.

for the love of god man get a 4x4. The gas mileage is like a 2 mpg difference but having 4 X 4 means you can go anywhere if you know what you're doing

I got my 2012 Ram Larmie Longhorn Limited 4X4 in January of 2013 and I got $11,000 off MSRP. The best I have found here in the valley of AZ right now is about $8,500. You can usually just do an area search for your local Ram dealer and they have their best price posted when you search their inventory. If you wait a few months you will definitely save a couple thousand, but at the same time you may want the 2014 model. It would have cost about $4400 more for a 2013 over a 2012 model when I bought. Bill Luke Chrysler Dodge here in the valley had the best prices on new pickups-so you may want to compare their prices to your local dealer. I ended up paying about $500 than what they were offering, but got thousands more for my trade at a different dealer. Hope that helps!

Me too but I could not justify the 2500 cost to ship the only one from Arkansas or somewhere on the opposite side of the U.S.

The color is starting to grow on me and heck it will just be a blur to everyone else they wont get a good look at the color. ROFL
