My stock trans finally gave up Wednesday, OD clutches are toast

New Trans went in Saturday afternoon at my Bud's Garage!

Just can't beat on her until I get a quick learn and MGH's trans tuning.

transfer case, both drive shafts and exhaust removed...

Cant wait to get her all tuned up and back to the Track!

Glad to hear the swap went well. I saw Brad's out but didn't see any pics of yours out yesterday.

Brad was posting pic's of my swap while I was busy working on it, LOL
His truck still has the stock trans in it for another week or two.

That makes a lot more sense, lol. How's it shifting without the tuning? For the first bit mike shifted like a bastard until I got a basic revision from Josh. I wasn't going to sink a bunch of tuning into the trans only to redo it all once I got the engine swap done. Mine still shifted funny from time to time, but it was a 'best guess' tune I had, kind of like my start up tune.

The first couple 1-2 shifts were just a bit firm for light throttle,
but felt normal after about 6 upshifts.
The 2-3 upshift was the only one that hit a little too hard so I babied it all the way home.

The next day after a few more shifts it was fine too, guessing it took about 20 times to adapt (learn)
The upper end shifts 3-4, and 4-5 were perfect right from the start.

Ideally it should have gone from Brad's place right to a dealer a couple blocks away for a quick learn.

But it really didnt take much to adjust on its own.

You just swapped one of these into the existing fuel hat?

I'm looking to avoid the whole twin fuel pump new return line thing if I can help it.

I can't see pics with my camp connection, but if you're talking the fuel pumps they are NOT a drop in pump. I had to completely remove the fuel pump/filter assembly and plumb the new pump. I did a complete return system but you can easily just build the system to plumb into the stock fuel lines with an -6AN EFI fuel line fitting after coming out of the fuel hat with a 90 deg AN fitting.

Brad dropped his tank and pulled the stock pump assembly out only to find it was not a direct replacement.

We both decided this was something we didn't want to jerry-rig to make it work...we're talking Fuel here!

Buttoned back up and added Water/Meth kits on both Rams instead.
Hoping to get back to the dyno soon with both Rams to see if that will make up for the lack of pump supply at WOT/5800 rpm.

We should both get more accurate A/F readings now that we both have Catless and LT headers now too
