Man, this site is great. I was going to ask the same thing regarding my spark plugs. My truck has NGK LZFR5C-11 which are impossible to find in Miami. The NGK website has them for $89.37 for the set of 16 with shipping charges included. Ebay has it for $71 with free shipping for the set of 16.

What confuses me is the the Dodge dealer close to me doesn't carry them. They have Champion# CHA9055 which are iridium/platinum as the spark plugs for my truck. Don't know much about the benefit of iridiums but I think I will stick to the NGK, just in case.

REGCABRAM From the little research I've done, the copper core plugs are the best performing, good conductivity, greater spark potential but don't last as long. Platinum are a harder material but have less conductivity than copper and Iridium are harder still than platinum and have less conductivity than copper but more than platinum. So in other words, I'd go with either Copper for performance or Iridium for the long haul. Just my Opinion. Got my set for about $65. $3.53 ea and $9. shipping.

Arth, Can't tell if it's free shipping or not, doesn't say? I'd stick with a known supplier like Rock Auto. Don’t always know what your getting on Ebay and returns can be a HA.

Either get copper or iridium, nothing else. Both will perform equal, the difference is iridium will last about 2 to 4 times longer, and more expensive. Performance will be more consistent with iridium since it doesn't wear as fast as copper. with copper plugs the performance consistently drops with age/usage.

Thanks snrusnak. Since I already purchased the NGK's I'll stick with them. Maybe next time I'll try the Iridiams.
Happy Haulen!!

would iridium plugs void our drivetrain warranty?
