Ok been threw 4 rams my 09 had 392 rear and was fast, bought a 2012 with 392 with open rear end," one wheel spinner" lol my 09 was the same way, bought a silver 2013 with 355 rear and posi and was ok, traded that for a 2013 black with 392 posi and still don't feel that fast or easy to break the wheels lose,on the rear it says 392 and on the window sticker it said 355 and added option 392 rear, any help on how to confirm what I have?? I know back in the day in my younger years you can tell by the mph or rpm's on what gearing you have, any help would be awesome, on my 09 if I nail the pedal it would break lose easy with meaty tires, but I was told that's because it's a one legger and the new is a posi

If its got a HEMI then it really shouldn’t matter what gears and rear diff you have the tires should spin (either one or both depending). You are correct in saying that you can tell (approximately) what gears you have by comparing speed and rpms while in a particular gear. My 09 (5sp) had 392 with LSD my 13 (8sp)is 355 open diff, with the 8 speed the 13 feels on par with the 09 with the exception that the 09 got off the line quicker because of more traction - if that helps. The easiest way to tell what gears are in the truck is to look on the axle tube (driver side I believe) there should be a bar code tag with the info you are looking for. If it’s not there then you would have to mark the driveshaft and the hat of the rotor (or the axle flange), have someone help count rotations and see what you got- does that help.

Also the butt Dyno can be very misleading especially if your old truck had exhaust or an intake that may have changed the sound which somehow makes things faster or atleast thats the way it works for me lol.

Compare the part number on the axle tube to the cross reference chart in the following thread. It will tell you exactly what is installed on your truck.

Try recalibrating your gas pedal to the throttle body and see if that doesn't help improve your throttle response.
