Default Ram 1500 Outdoorsman with Hemi

Hi all,First post,I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the Outdoorsman with the V8 and 8 speed tranny. The thing I'm concerned with is it only comes with the 3.92 rear end.Does anybody have any experience with this combo? It will probably be great off road but not so sure on road. Thanks

That is what I have and it is great on-road. I was looking for a Big Horn or Outdoorsman, and the Outdoorsman is the one that became available at the best price with the equipment I wanted.

Acceleration is awesome - at least compared to my previous crossover. I am probably losing a bit of mileage due to the gears, plus the on/off road tires. You can upgrade to the 20" wheels with road tires - but that is about $1400 (MSRP). Even with the on/off road tires it is the quietest vehicle I have ever owned.

I almost got the Outdoorsman, but ended up getting a Lone Star with 3.92 gears. I love it and think the gearing is great. If you decide to go any bigger on the tires, you'll definitely want 3.92 gears.

Keep in mind, those ^^^^ are Canadian numbers not US.

I had an '11 Outdoorsman with V8 and 3.92's. I averaged about 18 mpg overall before I traded. I really liked that truck but I wanted all the bells and whistles, which is why I went with the Laramie this time. I got the V8, 8spd, and 3.92's again. When driving nice, I have no problems getting 18-20 while going 65. My last tank was 15.87 mpg but that was mostly driving 75-85 mph on interstate (I was running late )

No those are American numbers converted I drive at 55 mph and she will drop down to 7L/100km or 33 MPG on right conditions and I average 12.5 L/100Km or 18.8 MPG combined since I bought her.
