Default Check engine light

Hello All, I have a 2013 Dodge diesel truck with about 3500 miles. For the second time, the check engine light has come on. Is anyone else having this problem? Hoping this is not going to be a issue. I mean really, 3500 miles and now have to take my truck back for the second time. The first time they said some kind of resetting the computer. Just wondering if others are having this problem.

Default Same issue

Took the truck back for check engine light and recall of engine cover. Sat there for four hours and before I went I made sure they knew about the engine cover recall so they could order the part. Well after the four hours, they tell me they reset the computer and they need to reschedule me when the recall part comes in. I don't know why I was po. Then to top it off, I get in my truck and it smells like they were smoking in it. Next I drive in down the road less then a mile and the check engine light comes back on. This is my first Dodge truck, is this what i'm going to have to deal with every couple hundred miles i drive it???? Not happy in NJ

Do you drive in the city primarily? My father had a 2008 Ram 2500 and the light came on twice for me when he was working in SoCal for 7 months. Both times, I took the truck out on the freeway and let it drive for 5-10 miles going 70+ and the light came off. In May of this year, I bought my first 2500 Diesel and sure enough...around the 500 mile mark, my light came on. I took it out on the freeway and that night it came off....hasn't come back on since.

Not going to say this will solve your issue, but for me, its 3 for 3. The Diesel wasn't meant to be a city truck that doesn't pull....which is pretty much what I drive it 70% of the time...but now I purposely go out of my way from time to time just to open it up and let it have some "fun".

Just a thought from the Great NW!!

Default Thanks for reply

I drive in town and on the highway about the same. When I'm on the highway I hit it pretty hard, have a lead foot. Have to admit, I'm one of those one's that say get out of the way if your not going to get your a$$ moving. Sunday drives are for the country rides, not the highway. Just got off the phone with the service manager, he told me when the recall part comes in that he would call and set up an appt and keep it a few days to figure out what's going on. I love the truck, so hopefully they can take care of it.

Default Check engine light

I just hit 800 miles or so and the check engine light came on. I run 50/50 highway/city driving. I haven't heard about the engine cover recall, will have to look into that. I'm going to call dealership tomorrow.
This is my first diesel...never had a problem w/ my Ram 1500's.

I had 2950 on mine when the check engine light came on early in the morning on the way to work. Took it in to the dealer 4 hours later the service manager comes and gets me says the trucks ready. He tells me that one of the air temp sensors is 14 degrees out of cal with all the others, said we'll call you when the part comes in. I do about 70/30 city to highway driving. So far the light hasn't come back on.
