Post EVIC and steering wheel swap.

Hello everyone, hope to get some guidance on a mod for my 2012 Express quad cab. before jumping in.

I have picked up a perfect EVIC cluster and steering wheel out of a poor destroyed 2012 Laramie in a local wrecking yard, is it just a plug and play swap and then hit the dealer to activate everything?

I already did the overhead console add in with the homelink/compass module and harness from the same truck without issue. I will post pics of this mod soon.

Any help would be appreciated also does anyone know someone on the west coast preferably portland, oregon that can update the cluster mileage to match the PCM's miles. Mine has 2100 miles the donor had 11,000

Thanks in advance.

Cool

I have heard that the RDZ code does not work on the 2012, not sure if this is true but I have the EVIC speedo and wheel ready and waiting so I hope to figure something out soon, chomping at the bit to put it in but I am still under warranty and don't wanna screw anything up.

Im gonna stop at dealer this week n see what they say. I do know of a guy in miami that can reprogram your pcm but you have it send it to him. Hopefully i can avoid it but at least i know i will get it done. I have 3k miles until my truck matches my new cluster so i have a lil time before i swap it out. I did install it to see if it worked n i could change up/down on the evic with my current controls

I have not tried to swap it out yet but I know I will before I have all my answers. I am trying to find someone on the west coast that can do the programming but am not having any luck yet, I have a friend at a local dodge dealership and asked if he new any good techs that would be willing to help me out. Will see if hat pans out.

Sorry Jhouse but I cannot PM yet but here is your answer to your message.

I have not swapped it out yet, I am still waiting for a positive answer in the mileage swap infor, I did find someone local who says he can do it. I am friends with the service manager at my local Chrysler dealer and he is digging on the Chrysler side to see what they can do or where they can recommend to et it done should know something in the next week or so the main computer guru has been on vacation.

I did swap out to the EVIC steering wheel with no problems, of course the volume controls don't work yet but I will get everything programmed at once when I have an answer regarding the miles.

More to come soon I hope.

I got my swap finished. I added the evic button on the steering wheel and the cluster and everything worked perfect. It was all plug and play

I believe I'm going to do this as soon as I find a cluster to use.
