Default Problem w/power rear slider

I have a Big Horn with the power rear window and the button to close it on the overhead console is real finicky. I have to press it a bunch of times to close the window. The button to open works fine. Could it just be the button assembly or something else? Anyone else having a problem? I use the power rear slider all the time so it's bugging the hell outta me!

Hey bigt. Sorry no solutions but I am having the exact same issue and hoping someone can post back with one. Same thing with mine, no problems opening the window with the button but closing it can sometimes be an issue. It either stops a few times in the middle of sliding closed or just doesn't move at all. Had a few times where it was stuck open and no matter how many times I hit the close button nothing happened. Waited like 30 mins and then it worked. I have been at the dealer 2 times for this and of course those 2 times they say it worked fine. They keep saying it might be a slider issue but I think it electrical cause it opens fine. Hope someone can post with a solution. Thanks

Has the switch been replaced? If it works fine opening, but not closing, I'd try replacing the switch (seems it would be easier to replace than a motor).

I've got the same problem. Trying to find the part outside the dealership network.

I have the same issue. I find that it happens more frequently when the truck is in full sun on a warm to hot day. When its cool outside, the window works fine.

speaking as a former electrician, it sounds like either a loose connection or a bad switch. The fact that it doesn't happen all the time makes me lean towards a loose connection.

To those that are having issues, try pulling the switch down from the overhead, and then checking all of the connections, if there is a "pig tail" make sure that it's seated properly.

If everything is tight, then it could just be gremlins

Ramsfan78, I noticed the same thing as you. I have more problems with it when my truck has been sitting out in the sun all day like in the parking lot at work. Weird. Does anyone know how the top console comes apart to look at the switch connection?

Mine has done this recently. I am sure it is caused by the heat that it receives from the roof not being insulated. It is very hot when taking the console down when it's been in the sun. The console is easy to remove. What I did was start at the far outside corners closest to map lights and worked my fingertips in and pulled down. Then I worked my fingers on down the console where there are two push in clips in the middle and then it should just pull on out. I had to do this because my switch got pushed inside of the console. I have not checked the wiring or the switch but this is how I got the console off.

We may be onto a common theme. I have generally only tried to open the back window when the cab is particularly warm...and considering the problems I had getting the window closed again haven't tried it on cool days.
