Default tuner question before i buy one

so im in the market to buy a tuner for my truck so far ive heard diablo i-1000 is the best. does any one have an opinion on a tuner that will give the most gains with a butt dino that doesnt harm the engine? also those who have a tuner on their truck is the power from a tuner a noticeable gain or is it kinda like the gain from putting an intake on where your like yeah i can slightly tell the difference but its not like wow what a difference. id just like as many positive and negitive opinions as possible in this regard. also im looking for the most power with a basically stock truck i dont really care about the mpg

Honestly, it's not engine harm you have to be weary with on these trucks and tuners; it appears to be KFC transmissions.

Go with a custom HemiFever tune as I've yet to read anything but high praise from all owners.

You will hear different opinions about tuners. Best to a little research and check them out. What are your plans for the truck?

Go with that tuner and pay the extra for a custom tune. You will feel the difference. Better shift points and it will defiantly feel like it has more get up and go.

Plus if you ever want to get on it and really feel the truck pull and stay in the RPM band... you will want the tuner. It will never shift like this on the stock tune.

thanks for the input guys. another question though. after the tuner is installed ive been seeing people saying to replace the thermostat with a 180. what is the meaning of that.

It helps to keep the engine running cooler which means less chance of detonating. Always make sure you use the right fuel based on the tune. Its not something that is needed though
