Default Biggest 17 " Tire Size

Hello I am setting my truck up for better hauling conditions and driveability. I am going to install a tlc air suspension for hauling this weekend. I have ordered bilstein's for the front. Will install them next to compensate for any lift I end up getting from the air bags after I find the psi setting I want for the airbags.

My biggest question is next week I want to upgrade to a bigger tire but keep my stock rims. Tires for hauling . When trailer season is over I will most likely upgrade wheels and rims for off season. The off road tires do not wear as good for long hauling so really I will need to rotate to a more aggressive rim and tire when I am done. .I am presently running 265/70/17 but I can't seem to find a sticky or a post on actual biggest tire I can run without spacers on a 17 inch stock rim. I want to upgrade my trailer hauling tires at this time to biggest size possible.

So I am asking what do you guys run for tire size without any modifications?

Cheers

I'm with you on that one. When the times comes to replace my tires, I'll debate between the beefiest I can put on without a lift and staying under the fenders or go with lift and 35s. Can anyone confirm 31s or 33s?

i'd guess you could safely get 285/70/17 on the stock rims just fine, anyone else chime in on that?

I'm running 285/70/17 on mine just fine for 20,000 miles now.

285 wide is as big as you can go on stock wheels. with no level/spacers. (rim size really has nothing to do with it, it's the same for 17, 18, 20, etc)

you posted this in the leveling section...so do you plan on leveling or no?
