Default Big MPG suprise

I went fishing last week and traveled from NE Ky to Guntersville Alabama. I was towing an 18' Stratos bass boat. I decided if I got 12-12 1/2 MPG I would be happy. My truck has the 3:55 gears Hemi motor and Reg cab SWB
I wanted to get the best I could so I did not use cruise control. I wanted to tow in regular mode and did not use Tow Mode because I wanted to take full use of the the ECO mode when on level road and downhill.

I found out real quick I DID NOT need Tow-Haul mode. When I came to a hill it did downshift but only to 5th gear and would only pull 2300 rpm. That made me very happy.

Well to make the story short. I averaged 15-16 MPG down and back. I am very suprised and very happy to say the least.

BTW I did lightfoot it and tried to get the best possible at between 65-70 mph

that's good news! These trucks do have that sweet spot. Yesterday on my way to work I reset my MPG and cruise controlled on the backroads at 55mph and got 17mpg. As soon as I went out for lunch, then hit the same route home with a few stops for turning vehicles. Mileage dropped to 14.3. My 35 inch mud tires are a dog in stop/go driving. I was still impressed i was able to see 17mpg.

How'd you do fishin? tight lines brotha

I had the best trip I have ever had fishing . We were lots of 2-4 pound bass on the main channel in deep water right at the edge of the grass. They were lovin the senko and fluke.

they love senkos all day everyday! great universal bait. I catch 70% of my bass on creature baits Texas rigged. they just tear them up.

I had knee surgery so I haven't been able to fish in weeks. it sucks

I would guess boat, motor, trailor and fishing gear at about 3,200. Plus all the stuff that goes with a 7 day fishing trip.
