Default What should I do?

So my CEL came on today. I checked the code and its my EGR valve. Again. This is the 3rd of 4th time since last August that the code has come up (I've lost count at this point). I have changed the EGR valve every other time so I am starting to think that maybe its not the valve but something in the piping leading to it.

I'm not really sure what my options are right now. I know I can get an EGR valve delete kit and then I would have to get another custom tune to tune out the EGR valve which isn't out of the equation.

But, I'm thinking maybe I just need to clean everything and that might do the trick as well. Would running Seafoam through the intake and in the fuel tank, removing the EGR and cleaning the piping going to it, as well as, maybe even removing the throttle body and cleaning that, possibly solve the problem?

I feel like these are my only 2 options so I don't have to keep dealing with this every few months. What do you guys think?

I think Seafoam is a great option. And although it may not fix the EGR issue, it won't hurt it either.

I was planning on the seafoam to begin with. I need to do my spark plugs so I was going to do it then but now I guess I might do it sooner.

I'm still trying to figure out the EGR problem though

If I have them do this will it mess with my custom tune? I don't want to mess with it if the tune is gonna get screwed up or something.

I cleared it the other day and it hasn't come back since. It's also not really a code I am too worried about just more annoyed with than anything

going to the dealer for a PCM flash will just over write your custom tune. You could try to explain the problem to your tuner and ask them to take a look.
