Default OEM running board feel loose

Last thread. I swear!!!

so I installed the Mopar/OEM tubular running boards and they are tightly secured but when you step on them they give a bit. I almost feel like they're gonna pull out or snap off using them. I collapsed the rivnuts as per the instructions ~3.5 turns of the nut until they REALLY fought back and I could barely turn them anymore. is this just the nature of the board or did I not do something right?

ok, maybe the term feeling loose is bad, they're tight, but they flex when stepped on. Is that normal? i need answers

If the rivet nuts were not completely secure when installed they will stretch, becoming loose. If you stretch them too much you'll bend the mounting locations. Your dealer has a special plate if that happens.

I had problems with mine becoming loose, bent the mounting holes. but the dealer bent them back in place & added new rivet nuts

Well , mine ripped completely out! Pretty cheap metal for mounting those things. I think they should have used the body mounts or something. Oh, maybe they would bend too! Sorry , just had to vent a little bit.
