Nothing wrong with Rancho but, Bilstein races all over the world. Whichever you prefer.

Oh oh....another religious debate.

I have one truck with bilsteins shocks and have rancho's quicklifts on my 2011 1500. I think both are great products. I like the rancho's 9000xl on my 1500 as I can easily adjust my ride, was able to find someone local who sold and installed them (so they also will warranty them). Rancho also offered the 90 day love the ride or they pay to put it back warranty. (check with your installer). So was able to get the quicklifts put on my truck and if I ended up having problems with ride after install could get my money back. Didn't have any problems, but it was nice to know I had the extra insurance.

Still have bilsteins on my other truck. Only gripe I had with bilstein is that no one local installs/warranties them and they want you to go through company your purchased them from for warranty. Problem is the shop I bought them from is long gone. So when I had a seal failure on one of them, bilstein made me ship it in to get it warrantied. Since at time I couldn't do without the truck just ended up buying a new shock.

If I didn't have a local installer/service center that sold rancho's I would have to ship one of their shocks in as well to get warrantied. So even if you are doing the work yourself, check around and see if you have a local service center that sells them (whatever you decide to go with, even if you don't buy it local) so you can get a shock replaced under warranty without having to have truck sit on the sideline waiting for UPS.

Used to be that you could put a deposit down and companies would drop ship a new one, and you could send an old one back. But seems to be getting to be a less common option.

I lean towards the Rancho because it comes assembled with the spring (unless my research on this has led me astray). The best combination is always going to be matching the spring rate with a damper. I would assume that Bilstein did their homework on this but then again, they may use the same damper characteristics for a range of vehicles.

The Rancho's are pretty pricey and Bilstein damper are very good products. Either way, you win.

Rancho loaded struts and shocks all the way, much easier install, fully adjustable dampening, all put together for you. Have them on my truck could not be happier, they cost a bit more but worth it.
