Default Engine cleaning ?

I want to power wash my engine bay to clean it up. Is there anything I need to do or avoid while spraying it? Should I do it with the engine running or off? Thanks! I have a lunch meet and greet with the Great Plainz Modern Mopar chapter

Simple Green is an all purpose cleaner. Search on YouTube for engine cleaning, I like the Gunk video there, gel type. I also want to clean my Dakota engine.
