Default Supercharger Options

I was wondering what is the best budget friendly supercharger kit for the 4g rams out there? I plan on buying within the next two months. Are there any adapter plates out there to run a stock eaton blower? I was also wondering what times I could expect in my rcsb 2wd express if it was supercharged. I currently have a custom fabbed intake tube running to a modified stock air box, magnaflow muffler, and hemifever tuning. The performance isn't too bad, but it just doesn't cut it. If I can't get in the twelves with boost, I'm probably just buying another ls1 fbody. lol

Supercharger Kit (Ripp 8psi, 500whp)
E-Fan (TYC replaces a/c fan and mech fan)

ATS Triple Lok 3000 stall Torque Converter

I'm easily over $11k so far, and that's all DIY
But still needs more work, likely custom tuning..another $1k

I chose Ripp (Vortech V3) because it's power delivery is more transmission friendly than a Roots style (Magnacharger/Eaton)

But I don't think they have a tune written for a 12' Hemi Ram yet



My best NA time was 13.89/98.5, on 4 - 28" DR's awd for traction (effective gear ratio 4.30:1)
3.55 gears, Volant intake, Maggy Cat-Back + Y pipe, Diablo 93 canned tune at 2500' DA (13.4/102 corrected)

Hoping to see mid to high 12's as soon as I get it tuned and to the track

Ripp is a great kit to get. Heres the description

This kit features a signature Vortech V3 Si-trim Self-Contained centrifugal supercharger, an over sized water to air intercooler and a large heat-exchanger unit mounted behind the grill. As a whole this kit bolts on in 6 hours is considered plug and play ready. Set up at 7psi peak and tuned on 91oct fuel, the kit features larger primary injectors, plug and play RIPP map sensor and comes with a Diablo Sport Predator to reflash the ECU. Preliminary tests show our 2010 RAM 1500/2500 Quad Cab producing just 267-280 rear wheel HP (WHP) stock. With our proto-type supercharger installed we have been able to squeeze 440ft/lbs or torque and 430whp in a completely check engine light free environment with all emissions and knock control features on, making it extremely safe for any form of motor-sport.

It's a great setup for sure, but not likely to get you into the 12's on its own
I got mine on the Cinco De Mayo sale for $4k when they only had five units available

Great kit for the money for sure and total DIY friendly
I did mine alone in my driveway with basic hand tools...

I'm sure the kit for the 09-10 model will bolt directly up. They probably listed it only for 09-10 since there was no available tuning until now for the newer models.

That would be awesome. I like the twin-screw type over a centrifugal kit. I think the twin-screw type is the way to go in a truck.

Hope you have an extra $3K (minimum) in your budget for a "Built" transmission,
Superchargers, especially a Roots type will destroy a Ram trans in record time.

Dont want to take my word for it
KaratemanAZ (Magnacharged) killed at least 3 ATS transmissions and went back to stock NA.

azzo540, also a Magnacharged 4G Hemi....Killed a record 5 ATS transmissions

Kits like the Magnacharger also run Very Hot, and don't often come with an intercooler option.
its a shame because they cost about $1000 more than the Procharger kits that come with intercooler
...or a Ripp Vortech kit that includes intercooler AND a water to air heat exchanger.

Be careful when comparing kits, you dont always get what you pay for
and my have to add an intercooler system of your own and/or a Water/Meth kit to cool things down.



If you think a roots/screw is better simply because it delivers more instant power down low
...I can assure you that is not a limitation with my Centrifugal Vortech supercharger

I can full throttle launch mine and chirp the tires into second gear in 4WD !
(305/50R20 Terra Grapplers on stock 20's, 3.55 gears, stock shift points (5600rpm)
Hot afternoon and totally heat soaked....



Edge 2800 stall now flashes to 3300 RPM , if I didn't have 4WD I would have serious traction issues lol

The E-force kits are pretty nice and will come with water-to-air intercooling. The instatant tq is awesome for street driving and yes you will see a little more heat with a pd blower but its not near as bad with the new TVS rotor design everyone is using now. Like mentioned, you will smoke your trans in no time with any FI setup so I'd budget for that too.
