Default Remote Start question

I have the heat and steering wheel heaters set for remote start. When I test it, it doesn't activate. Does the outside temp need to be cooler or does the something else need to be set.

There is a setting for it to be turned on. On my 2012 it's called the "remote start comfort group" and it's in the EVIC. On a 13+ truck I would imagine it's in the 8.4 settings. But yes, it does need to be below a certain outside air temp for it to come on. I think I read somewhere that it's below 40 degrees F that it will turn on.

Spot on. Has to be pretty cold outside and you have to activate it in the EVIC.

May seem obvious, but the temp controls need to be set to Auto as well.

38 degrees if I remember correctly. That is what the 300/Charger uses and the system is similar across the board.

So the climate control definitely needs to be set to auto? I only ask because on my 2012 Sport I never used auto, but the climate control still cooled or heated the cab with remote start. The weather is turning so I want to be sure the truck is toasty warm when I get in it in the morning.

So I cant confirm with the RAM as I don't have mine yet, but I can say that it does for sure in my 2010 Charger.

I have remote start but not the automatic climate control. I haven't had it long enough to try this yet but I'd think the climate control would just come back on in whatever state it was when you turned the truck off.

Yes, that is correct. That's what happened in my last truck after I added the OEM remote start.

The climate control does not need to be at auto in order to come on with the remote start. But I haven't confirmed if it needs to be on auto to turn the heated seat/steering wheel on. I doubt that it does, that wouldn't really make sense. As long as the remote start comfort group is turned on in the settings the climate control shouldn't make a difference.
