Smile Tires

Hello all

I am a first time ram owner and love the truck !!! I have a 2010 crew cab 1500 . I looking to put a 2 inch level kit on it and wondered how big of a tire would look good on the 20 inch stock rims ? Help would be greatly appreciated .

You can go up to 35x12.50 with no problems. But if you are going to keep the stock wheels you will need to use spacers for adequate clearance. Most aftermarket wheels have a sufficient offset to achieve adequate clearance.

Default Spacers

Thanks so much for the answer ! Much appreciated ! Do spacers act like offset rims . I think that's the idea .

Yes, spacers give you a more negative offset. You will need 1/4" spacers on your stock wheels which will give you an offset of +12. You will clear an undersized 35x12.5 such as a Federal Couragia MT no problem with that set up as they only measure 12" wide. Both Toyo MT's and Nitto Trails measure 13"-13.5" mounted so you will be pushing it trying to run those tires (if a mud tire is what you're looking for). Any 35x12.5 AT tire should fit no problem.

To clear a full 35x12.5 you'll probably want to go with a 2.5" leveling kit over a 2". Or better yet, the Bilstein Adjustable struts. What you should do is go out and measure all 4 fender heights of your truck and find out how much rake you have from the factory (not all trucks are the same). Then you will be able to tell how much of a level you need to make your truck sit properly. Keep in mind you want to keep at least 0.5" of rake to avoid looking nose high.
