Default Air intakes

I read claims that air intake upgrades will increase hp by a variety of amounts. Are there any dyno tests that can verify any of these or is it just a case of a meaner sounding engine that gives the illusion of hp increase? I don't want to spend the $$ if it's just for sound.

Good question.....I was thinking of adding a s&b intake but wonder if an aftermarket drop in would be just as effective with the stock intake.........

Yes the claims are out there of course. It is more of a silencer, the stock intake box, to help quiet down in cabin engine noise........hence the numerous ribs in the stock intake tubes compared to the smooth unobstructed bends in aftermarket CAI's. Stock air boxes have come a long way and to be truthfully honest with you, a simple high flow filter element to replace your paper element is more than enough. Our air boxes get cool outside air via wheel well area and the ABS airbox material helps shield engine temps fairly well. BUT, once again, it is the sound or roar that entices us all to install a CAI. At least for me that is.

Is Bully's Performance still going to test the CAI you all mentioned about a month or so ago?

Is it still in the works?
