Default 2012 front diff swap

okay so 2012 ram 1500 4x4 and i need to change the gears but cant. Has anyone swaped there front diff out yet? is it a direct swap or dose it need modifications? and do you need to have the drive axles from the diff u use or can u use the ones off of the 2012? im looking to change it out as i found a really good deal on a 2011 front diff!!

Why would you change the front dif out? You can get the gear set for it easier than you can the ZF rear end. I might be wrong here but Candy or someone might chime in and let you know.

Andrew (fastNugly @ BP) has done it. He'd be the guy to talk to.

You can't change the gears in the front diff in the '12 and up trucks. You need a front diff from a 2011 in order to change them.

Brandon,

Got it, guess I missed that along the lines. So what diff is in the front then? Not sure why the aftermarket has not keyed in on this and start making sets for our trucks since RAM did so well last quarter. Seems like enough out there to make it profitable. Probably not going to change mine if I do something might be out by then.

Thanks for the correction, good looking out.

Gary
