Don't recall asking for opinions on how the situation occurred. Hopefully the short warning time was a fluke. never been to this location before. U think she will total?

insurance can go either way
if water was high enough to get into the glove compartment
the engine & computer & most things under the dash board & possibly the radio is trash
the seats have to be replaced, carpeting, etc.
it could go either way
hopefully they will total it & allow you to do a buy back
you get enough to replace your Ram & sell off the good parts off the flooded Ram, body, frame, engine, transmission, rear end, doors, bed, tailgate, wheels & tires
with of course disclosing the engine, tranny, & rear end may be flood damaged

Glad you made it out OK. That kind of stuff can turn real hairy real fast.

In terms of the truck, not sure whether you personally want it to be totaled or not, but at least it wasn't salt water. I live in Florida and every now and then I hear of someone who backed a little too far off the boat ramp near where I live and it doesn't matter how short a trip that is (there's almost ALWAYS someone to pull you our if you screw the pooch) the salt water basically ruins everything in a flash. Whether yours being fresh water is a good or bad thing is up to you.

It sounds like it'd probably be best if it WAS totaled as I've had a few electronic nightmares with trucks in the past and mine wasn't due to being submerged...I can only imagine if it had been.

Well she's totaled! Insurance adjuster opened the glove box and wrote it off. Said he didn't need to see anything else

That should be good news because as others have said, the truck will never be the same. Sounds like a good company you have there, I have heard too many stories where either the company refuses to total a vehicle which should be, or gives the customer considerable headaches before totaling a vehicle. Good luck on getting another one.

4k on it. That is just sad. But good to hear the OP made it out safely. Happy hunting for the replacement.

They have to total all submarine vehicles to protect future buyers from scams. A submerged vehicle is deemed unrepairable unless it is completely stripped and redone and then it becomes a permanent salvage titled flood vehicle. If I were the OP I would try to keep it and buy it at the salvage price.
